The podcast is a fairly new way of entertainment, at least for me. I first started listening to podcasts about a year ago. As a college student, I am traveling a lot, both to and from class, or home on the weekends. There is only so much music I can listen to before I need a little something more. I started listening to podcasts because one of my favorite artists, Christy Nockels started one about her life. The podcast is titled “The Glorious in the Mundane” which is perfect for me. I struggle to sometimes see God’s glory in the everyday rituals of life. Her podcast really helped me see life in a different manner than I used to.
Let’s get real though; sometimes you don’t want something so deep. Sometimes you need a laugh, a great celebrity interview, or a murder mystery to listen to while you are driving down Woodruff Road at rush hour. I love all sorts of podcasts; I was actually a guest a few months ago on Upstate Exposure’s very own podcast. The Northwest Corner podcast is based right here in the Upstate of South Carolina. It is one of the few local podcasts, and even before being a guest I was a listener. Heather and Shawn Kitchen interview local entrepreneurs, business owners, and people doing interesting things around the Upstate.
Here is a list of a few of my favorite podcasts for your listening pleasure!
If you need a laugh:
If you need a Scare:
If you need something deeper:
If you need a good interview:
Whatever you prefer, even if it isn’t on the list above, there is a podcast out there for you. With dozens of categories to choose from, your road trip just got a lot more interesting.
Hi, I’m Tyler Center; I was born and raised in Greenville, SC. I have seen first hand how this town has grown and improved for the past 20+ years. As a lover of Greenville, I find great pleasure in trying new restaurants and bars around town.
