The People, Places, Events, History, Businesses, and Music of Upstate SC

PLEASE WELCOME Tabathia Smith of The Adorned Fox

Do you like creating and DIY projects? If you answered yes then I would like to introduce myself. Hey there. I'm Tabathia, an upstate native, stay at home mom turned small business owner (The Adorned Fox) and a lover of ALL things DIY.Β

I would like to invite you to join me each month as I guide you with step by step tutorials (pictures included) on fun DIY projects for yourself and/or your kids to enjoy. But before we get it into the fun stuff I'd love to tell you a little more about me.

I'm now a wife and mother who once was an engaged 20-something that had a nine year career in criminal justice. While planning my wedding to my now husband, we decided I would be a stay at home wife and mom. This gave me the perfect opportunity to plan and create my wedding with tons of DIY projects. One of my favorites to complete was hand lettered chalkboards. I shared some images of my letterings on Facebook and I had people messaging and commenting on how to place orders. This was an exciting new venture and I was curious to see where it would lead. Fast forward a year and a half to early 2016, orders rolling in, newborn baby girl and I officially decided to turn my "fun new venture" into a small business. I wanted to expand into everything I could create by hand lettering and boy did I. What started as a love for hand lettering chalkboards quickly grew into a love for watercolor, brush lettering, embossing, foiled lettering, digital lettering, wood burned lettering, vinyl lettering and newest of all, laser cut lettering. If you can't tell, I have an enormous passion for what I do and what I create.Β

Aside from being a wife, mother and maker, I start each day with a cup of coffee and most days have a second or third. I enjoy all forms of music and tend to sing pretty loudly in the car and sometimes while creating. I love binge watching TV shows on Hulu and Netflix (when I have time) and am a huge foodie! I am extremely thankful for the upstate community and their support and belief in me and my small business. I've lived here my whole life and have such a love for this amazing place we get to call home. I look forward to lots of fun creating projects with you and encourage you to submit ideas and comments on things you'd like to see or know how to create!
