The People, Places, Events, History, Businesses, and Music of Upstate SC

OCTOBER 2017

Hello Upstate South Carolina!

My name is Heather Kitchen and I am the Editor-In-Chief of Upstate Exposures Magazine. We have just completed our 1-year anniversary in September and as we looked back at this year we are amazed at how much we have grown – from reaching 100,000 people to 500,000 people. And we have some changes to make to continue that growth for the coming year.

The most obvious change is that we are no longer putting out a digital issue on the 1st of each month. With all the stories coming out later as individual posts on our website, our readers preferred the individual stories. So, every Friday, we will debut a new story of the people, places, events, history, music, and businesses of the Upstate of South Carolina. Additional stories may appear on Wednesdays and Mondays as well.  If you subscribe to our website, you will receive an email whenever a new story is released.

Our goal is to bring “exposure” (pardon the pun) to the people and events that are all around us.  We will continue to happily accept submissions from you. And our internship program continues to grow as we help our young people gain real life experience in the world of online publishing.

Here is how you can get in touch with us to share your stories, ideas, and events: CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT.

Our entire staff are volunteers. If you would like to join us, please CLICK HERE for information.

If you are not a writer, you can help us by sharing our stories. The more people we reach, the more exposure we can give!

And here is a pictorial preview of what’s coming up in October:

Thank you so much for this past year and for continuing to read and share the stories of the Upstate!
