If I had to choose a single month to be my favorite, I think it would be October. Here in the Upstate, the leaves will change colors this month. The temperatures and the humidity will drop to comfortable levels. While I was working on our “STUDENT SPOTLIGHT” for this issue, I realized October is traditionally the month when the marching band starts wearing uniforms because it is finally cool enough.
The Upstate hosts a wide variety of celebrations throughout October. September can still be a bit warm, and November is into the holiday season, so October is perfect for Fall For Greenville, The Spartanburg International Festival, charity runs, golf classics, history reenactments. And October just wouldn’t be same without Oktoberfest celebrations in Greer, Greenwood, Walhalla, just to name a few.
October is also the 2nd issue of Upstate Exposures Magazine and we are growing by leaps and bounds! Our inaugural issue was read and shared throughout South Carolina, and even as far away as Japan! We can’t tell you how grateful we are for all our readers near and far. We want everyone in the Upstate to be a part of this magazine because Upstate Exposures is for you.
In fact, we want to hear from you. You are always welcome to send us your thoughts and story ideas. If you are a musician with an upcoming performance, let us know. Every issue, we want to publish where you will be performing. Did you take a picture of something interesting? Tell us about it and your pictures might appear in our new “INTERESTING PLACES” series. Have you got a fund-raiser planned? Send us the information so we can share your efforts with everyone.
We hope you enjoy this month’s issue even more than last month’s issue! We sure are proud of it, and we look forward to hearing from you.
