The People, Places, Events, History, Businesses, and Music of Upstate SC

Note From The Editor | November 2016

Believe it or not, it’s November! I can hardly believe it myself – this year is flying by, and it seems that once the holiday season starts, time speeds up at an exponential rate.  Before we know it, we’re at the new year and in the heart of winter, and waiting anxiously for warmer weather so we can all go to the beach.

Of course, November is Thanksgiving and here in the Upstate, we have so much to be thankful for. Just look around and you’ll see that wonderful things are happening. Yes, they really are! Many have mentioned to me recently that it doesn’t seem like anything good can be found in this world any more, and that everyone is just out to get all they can for themselves. I can understand that. However, we want to share stories with you in each issue of Upstate Exposures Magazine that will make you believe in  selfless giving again.

November is also Veterans Day. You won’t find a more patriotic state than South Carolina. We have many veterans of the armed forces as well as active duty service men and service women who have made the choice to serve our country and represent South Carolina both abroad and here at home. You’ll read about some these courageous military friends in this issue as well. We are so proud of all of them!

Upstate Exposures Magazine continues to grow with each issue. This month, we add Lee Millspaugh to our writing staff. Lee will be contributing stories of inspiration and every day miracles. Good things are happening, folks, and Lee will tell us all about the inspirational people and things that are happening right here in the Upstate.

In order to keep Upstate Exposures Magazine running, bringing you quality stories of the people, places, things, events, and history of the Upstate of South Carolina, we need sponsors. We have advertising opportunities in every issue and would love to talk to your company or organization about how you can help support this fabulous publication. Please email us at or call (864) 214-6535 to setup a meeting.

And if you’d like to be a part of our new advertising department, we’re ready to make you a part of our staff!  Please send your inquiries to

Let us know what you think about Upstate Exposures Magazine so far – we’d love to hear from you!  We hope everyone has a wonderful November!
